ALYSSON ROCHA

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Alysson began his professional journey at the Teatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro. In 2013, he joined Ballett Dortmund in Germany, dancing and creating roles in works by leading contemporary and classical choreographers.

 

He quickly became a respected artistic voice within the company, being appointed Ballet Master in 2018 and later First Ballet Master in 2021. In November 2025, Alysson joined Oklahoma City Ballet as Head of the Professional Division at Oklahoma City Ballet School, bringing his artistic vision and leadership to the next generation of professional dancers.

 

He has worked with companies and institutions such as The Royal Ballet of London, Ballet de l’Opéra de Bordeaux, Leipziger Ballett, Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro, European School of Ballet, and Valencia en Danza.

 

In recent years, Alysson Rocha has also served on the jury panel of Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP), the world’s largest student ballet competition.
