AYA MISAKI

Aya Misaki was born in Japan, a contemporary dancer, choreographer and a repetiteur based in Den Haag, the Netherlands.

She joined Nederlands Dans Theater 2 in season 2015-2018 and she has performed works from Sol Leon & Paul Lightfoot, Johan Inger, Edward Clug, Medhi Walerski, Jiri Pokorny, Marina Mascarell etc.

Since 2018 She has been working as freelance artist and has performed for projects in the Netherlands with choreographer Samir Calixto, Wubkje Kuindersma and David Middendorp.

Through these activities she did in the Netherlands, she proved her great artistry and got nominated for Piket Kunstprijzen Dans 2019.

​

She is also working as a repetiteur for Edward Clug and Jiri Pokorny, she has staged their work at Czech National Theater, Staats Theater Nuernberg, Slovene national theater, National Moravian Silesian Theater in Ostrava , Aalto Ballett Essen and Theater Osnabrück.

Beside all the works in Europe, she also has been choreographing her own work in Japan.
