Christopher Powney

With an extraordinary 37-year career spanning performance, education, artistic leadership, and mentorship, Christopher has shaped generations of dancers and redefined excellence in ballet training worldwide. As Artistic Director & CEO of The Royal Ballet School (2014–2025), he led a decade of transformation, elevating artistic standards, championing dancer well-being, and broadening global access to elite ballet education. 

In January 2026 Christopher becomes the new Artistic Director of Dutch National Ballet Junior Company whilst continuing his international work.
