Ekaterina Shavliashvili

Ekaterina Shavliashvili, born on June 23, 1971, in Tbilisi, Georgia, is a distinguished ballet professional. She studied at the Tbilisi V. Chabukiani State Choreographic School from 1981 to 1989 under T. Vikhodtseva and V. Chabukiani. In 1987, she became a laureate of the Caucasian Young Ballet Artists’ Contest and, from 1989 to 2009, was a member of the Ballet Company of the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theater.

From 2007 to 2014, Ekaterina taught classical ballet at the Tbilisi V. Chabukiani State School of Ballet Art. She was also a guest teacher at the Royal Danish Opera Academy from 2008 to 2009, specializing in floor barre and stage movement. Since 2010, she has served as a balletmaster and assistant to the artistic director, Nina Ananiashvili, at the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theater.

Ekaterina has assisted in numerous productions, working with choreographers like Frank Anderssen and Alexey Fadeechev on ballets such as "Nutcracker" and "Don Quixote." Her international work includes staging "Chopiniana" for the Beijing Dance Academy and "Don Quixote" for the Lisbon National Conservatory Dance School. 

Her recent projects include "Don Quixote" for the San Carlos Theater in Naples in 2021 and "Laurensia" for the Croatian National Theatre Split in 2024. Ekaterina's extensive experience and dedication make her an invaluable guest teacher for any masterclass.

HOW TO REGISTER?

The masterclass is aimed at young students over the age of 9 years.

The duration of a course is 120 min.
