Ilenia Montagnoli, born on October 21, 1986, in Castiglione delle Srtiviere, Italy, is a highly accomplished and versatile dancer with an impressive academic background and extensive work experience in the world of ballet.
Academic Background:
Ilenia's journey in dance began at the Teatro Carcano in Milan in 2002, where she studied under Margarita Smirnova and graduated with top honors. She excelled in major competitions like Spoleto and Rieti and performed in Giselle (solo wilis) choreographed by Giuseppe Carbone.
Work Experience:
Ilenia's career took off in 2004 when she received a scholarship for the Boston Ballet. In 2005, she joined Staatsballett Berlin under the direction of Vladimir Malakhov, where she danced in a wide range of productions, including Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, and more.
She also performed as a Principal Dancer at "Arena di Verona" in Italy, showcasing her talent in productions like Don Quixote and Le Corsaire. Her international collaborations included dancing with Etoile Giuseppe Picone and participating in numerous gala performances.
Ilenia returned to StaatsBallett Berlin in 2012 and achieved the position of Soloist by 2015. Her repertoire included a diverse selection of roles in various ballets.
Teaching and Artistic Leadership:
In addition to her performing career, Ilenia pursued dance teaching and became a freelance teacher. She collaborated with Larissa Saveliev, the founder of Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP), and established the first International Summer School in Italy in partnership with YAGP. She currently serves as the Artistic Director of International Summer School Italia.
Ilenia's dedication to the dance community extended to serving on the jury panel for YAGP Japan and PID (Rieti Festival) in 2022.
