Jumps, Pointes & Transitions

Taina Morales - International Senior Teacher and Director of the Professional Training Program at Casa de Balet will hold a one of a kind masterclass focusing on jumps, pointe technique and transitions:

Jumps
-
Coordination, use of plié and landing for jumps.

Different types and combinations of jumps, appropriate to each age category, and the role that the plie has on landing.

Emphasis will be placed on head-arm coordination and the correct execution of allegro combinations.

Pointe technique
-
Right alignment of the foot on pointe, strengthening of the foot in pointe technique.

Proper technique from the body alignment.
-
Placement of the feet and the manner in which a dancer transitions to and from en pointe.

TAINA MORALES
Started her studies at The Cuban National Ballet School, joined the Cuban National Ballet at age 16 , under the direction of Alicia Alonso .
​
After dancing in this company for ten years from corp de ballet to soloist , Taina continues her dance career abroad joining many important Ballet Companies around the world, she danced the classical and contemporary repertoire with different versions, and performed from corp de ballet to main roles in Swan Lake, Giselle, Coppelia, Bayadere, Theme and variation, Allegro Brillante, Apollo, to mention a few.

Taina Morales develops her own way of teaching, working in many schools around the world with differents ages groups, male and female ballet technique, point work and repertoire.
Taina Morales had teach at companies like Les Grands Ballet Canadian de Montreal, Joffrey Ballet, Ballet Jazz de Montreal, Lalala Human steps, Alvin Ailey, Royal Danish Ballet.
Also Taina Morales prepares students for Prix de Lausanne and YAGP. Her students earned many prices including the Grand Prix.

After teaching at Ecole Superior de Quebec in Montreal , Norwegian National Ballet, Royal Danish Ballet School, apprentices program, and recently English National Ballet School, Taina was invited to join Royal Danish Ballet in Copenhagen as Ballet Mistress.
​
Since 2020 she joined Casa de Balet as Director of the Professional Training Program.

HOW DO YOU REGISTER?
The masterclass is aimed at young students over the age of 12 years.
The duration of a course is 120 minutes.
