TANIA FAIRBAIRN

Tania is an international freelance ballet mistress. She  teaches regularly at the Associazione Europea Danza in Livorno, Élite Training Programme at Ateneo Danza, Forlì, Scuola di Elsa Ghezzi, Pisa Italy, and Ballet Boost in U.K. She is a regular jury member for the Confédération Nationale de Danse -Italie, Global Dance Open and Talent Scout  for the Metti le Ali al Talento programme with whom she gives regular masterclasses around Europe.

She has taught on Concourses for the British Ballet Organisation, the Cecchetti Society and the Royal Academy of Dance. 

She is a mentor for the Diploma of Dance Teaching  at the Royal Ballet School’s Teacher Training  Programme and Inspire tutor. She was a member of the Royal Ballet School’s ballet faculty for many years teaching classical ballet and character dance. 

She choreographed the character dances for Christopher Gable’s production of Swan Lake for Northern Ballet Theatre in 1994 and regularly choreographed for the Royal Ballet School’s end of year productions at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. 

Tania danced with Scottish ballet,Northern Ballet and Alexander Roy’s London Ballet Theatre before moving into musicals in London’s West End where she performed in On Your Toes, 42nd Street and The Phantom of the Opera.

She trained at the Arts Educational School, Tring and The Royal Ballet School’s prestigious Teachers Training Course (Craftsman’s course) under Valerie Adams. She was awarded a BPhil (Hons) in Dance and Contextual Studies at Durham University in 2002.
